Leighton was a little weirded out when Leo didn't say anything to what she'd warned him about or about Paxton. He'd merely changed the subject. She knew she couldn't keep up with what she was saying to him anyway. He wasn't responding and he'd just have to find out how Paxton was for himself. She couldn't really do anything more to help him if he wouldn't listen, but she'd try to save anybody from Pax's line of fire if possible. She didn't say anything for a moment as she was silently fuming in her head. She felt like a stranger among a crowd of people here, like no matter what she said, nobody believed her. People always made up excuses for Paxton and Alayna and she had no idea how they got away with everything or why people covered for them. When Leighton stepped out of line in the least bit, things got heavy and people tended to dislike her because she came off like her brother when she tried to get others to not trust him. Mostly it gave her a headache.
She turned to watch as her brother steered Alayna away after one last stab at Leighton. "Well, this loser is going to go play tennis instead of hanging around here," she said, giving one last glance at Leo. Why was it that she couldn't ever seem to make a friend, even when she tried to look out for them?

Paxton was relieved when he managed to pull Alayna away. At first she'd struggled and seemed to want to go after Leighton, which he wouldn't disapprove of, if his parents wouldn't be incredibly angry about it: furious at Alayna and furious at Paxton for letting it happen, although sometimes he thought that Leighton needed some sense beaten into her. "You've really got to control yourself around her," he commented. "I know you want to do something to her, but do something conniving like girls do, rather than punching her in the face, that will leave a mark," he explained before watching her order some vodka. "It's not as if Leo's actually going to befriend her anyway. She's probably mad that he wants to be friends with us. Sad for him really, this is going to be fun." Dragging Leo in and then leaving him out to dry. Leo could in no way compete with Paxton for being the elite figure of East Oak. He didn't even live here and Alayna and him could send him crying all the way back to Belgium.
