"We're more of the background character type." Eli said with a nod towards Monroe. The two were definitely more subdued and quiet, but when the time was right, both of them could be as exuberant and extroverted as say, Gabe and Rylee. "Seriously Gabe? He works hard to keep those spotless man." Watching the camera, Eli found himself dramatically narrating in the background. "A typical Espositos Pizza Night, with sibling rivalry rounding things off. The hungry creatures savagely eat and devour pizza, their natural food calling." He paused. "Then, an attack! The wild Gabe flings his food at the Monroe, a creature noted for his black attire and combat boots."

Resee giggled a bit at Eli's commentary. Despite his poor life choices he was a genuinely funny kid. He could lighten the mood pretty well for somebody who had repeatedly proved how dark a life he had lived. Reese took another pepperoni off of her pizza, and flung it in Gabe's hair. He reamined unmoved. "Another point for Reese Esposito," she added to the narration. "It isn't often that Gabriel doesn't put up a fight. Maybe he just doesn't notice the meat in his hair because he's already so greesy..." she joked. Gabe wasn't one to particularly fret over hygiene and appearance. Sure, he cleaned up great and on occasions where it was 'called for' he could be the best dressed most clean-cut guy in the room. But if it wasn't one of the situations Gabe found 'worthy' then he could walk around with two pieces of pepperoni in his hair and not give a shit. Gabe attempted to say something, but it came out muffled as his face was stuffed into the bean bag chair. When some of his friends pointed out the fact that he was going unheard, he lifted his face enough to say, "Reese I swear to god I'll lock you in the attic again!" He pulled the pepperoni out of his hair and threw them into the small trashcan he kept in his room, deciding that enough was enough and there was to be no more meat flinging. He grunted at the camera, seeing as it was still on him.

Kaely groaned, though didn't complain, about the fact that she had to stay home and watch her little brother on the night she looked forward to most of all during the week. The Esposito's held a 'pizza night' that involved Jimmy's fricken amazing pizza, and then just a bunch of weird shenans that sometimes resulted in Rylee getting out the camera and filming Eli as he went on about things that even Kaely didn't understand, but some times he really made sense, and made valid points.
Her brother was sick, and her father was working late, and her mother was called in for some last minute grade book errors that were found. It was miserable, but she managed to curl up on the couch and watch some television, drinking a soda and eating some popcorn.
When her mom came home, Kaely was ecstatic. It was still early, so the party still could be going on with a chance of having some left over pizza. Usually left over pizza made Kaely cringe, but come on, it was Jimmy's they were talking about.
She slipped on some simple blue jeans and and a tank top. She would have to walk over and she knew it was still probably a bit hot outside. It was summer, and the nights didn't provide too much relief. With a kiss goodbye, Kaely hauled ass out of there.
Reaching the Esposito's was no problem and Kaely simply walked through the door, and Mrs. Esposito simply ushered her towards Gabe's room. She gave her a wide and appreciative grin and bounded upstairs, knocking on the door and peeping her head in.
"Is there still any pizza left?" Kaely asked.

Monroe chuckled at Eli's narration as it was quite accurate and hilarious. The guy had a tough life, but he was an easy going funny guy when it came down to it. "I'd make him shine my shoes, but he'd probably use his spit," he said in return to Reese and then slung an arm playfully around Eli. "Background characters unite!" Eli often helped bring Monroe out of his shell, and he found himself acting just as ridiculous as Gabe and Eli when he was around them. "Gabe, you realize you make yourself the antagonist of everything Rylee films, right?"
"Don't threaten Reese for entertaining us!" Rylee shouted at Gabe, still holding the camera on him and his grumpy demeanor. She panned the lens to Eli. "Ooh, nice narration, Eli! Adds a dramatic effect." She couldn't stop laughing, trying to keep the camera on her friends, but between Reese and Monroe's comments about Gabe, she just couldn't.
Then there was a knock on the door and Rylee's eyes widened dramatically, moving the camera to the door. "Then there was a knock on the door....of which nobody expected..." And then Kaely poked her head in. "And it was the protagonist, here to wipe away Gabe's negativity." She grinned, passing over a pizza box to Kaely.

Eli winked at the lens of the camera, laughing afterwards as well. Pizza Night was always something he looked forward to. It allowed him to forget about the drugs, the past, and everything. The nice thing was everyone in West Oak befriended each other and didn't judge. They might not have any money, or designer purses, but they still had their pride. Eli draped his arm around Monroe in return, slightly swinging back and forth. "We'll make ourselves known if we want to." he said with a grin. "Yeah, don't want Gabe's spit on your boots. I think you'd kill him even more after that." When Kaely walked in, Eli cleared his throat. "Again, the content Kaely makes her appearance in the jungle. She sniffs, searching out the prize... of Jimmy's pizza. She is successful in her hunt, munching happily away. The creature dines."

Kaely grinned wide, slipping into the room and grabbing the pizza box from Rylee's hands. The smell hit her instantly, and her mouth watered in anticipation. Looking into the box, she found the biggest slice of pepperoni pizza she could find and took a bite out of it. Oh my god, did it taste like heaven. One day she swore she was going to go with Rylee and steal the recipe. It was too good to not know.
Kaely stuck her tongue out at Eli playfully, and then again at the camera, taking another bite. "I don't even think I can help Gabe with his negativity." She teased lightly, and then looked back at Eli "It's the pizza's job. Jimmy's pizza is the key to end all human suffering, I think." She went on and moved to Rylee's side, leaning up against the wall, her pizza laying on the top of the box.
"God I'm so glad I came in time. This pizza is so worth it."

Gabe groaned as everybody picked at his negative attitude. "I can be negative if I want to be ok! Like... it's great that you guys can see good in fucking everything, but at least one of us has to keep their head out of the clouds and in fucking reality over here," he pointed out. It was a fair argument, but didn't make the fact that he was almost ALWAYS negative any easier to swallow. "Besides. It's not like I'm forcing any of you guys to come sulk in a corner with me."
He gave Rylee's back the finger as she turned around to film Kaely, dropping his hand just in time for her to never see. "Yeah you're luck you got here because 5 more minutes and the pizza would have been gone."
Reese actually nodded in agreement when her brother referenced disappearing pizza. "Yeah I'm pretty sure I could single handedly eat what's left in 5 minutes," she suggested as she took one last piece from the box. Jimmy's really was the best. She smiled at the generally good attitude of everyone except Gabe. It was good that Gabe didn't bring down everybody else and the positivity greatly outweighed the negativity. Even Eli and Monroe were smiling and laughing. She hummed contently to herself, one of the many tunes she had stuck in her head for days. There really wasn't many points in time where Reese didn't have a song inside of her. And being full of pizza and around great people just made it that much better. "Fuck Gabe and his Negativityyyy," she sand aloud to a random tune as she took another bit of pizza and another swig of soda.

"I would kill him," Monroe told Eli as the guy swung an arm around him in return. And it was true, what Eli said. If Monroe wanted to be noticed, he would be; however, at times he was fine with chilling in the background. It was more his style anyway. He didn't need to bring attention to himself. He was on the West Side for shit's sake. Besides, he was rather apathetic about popularity in general. Rylee knew that Gabe was probably not amused and a little miffed at their teasing, but Rylee just wished that Gabe had a little bit more...I don't know, hope? Motivation? Something. He needed to have dreams. Sometimes she almost felt as if his mood would rub off on her and she'd catch his apathy. "There's a difference between being realistic and being a notorious pessimist," she told Gabe, biting her lip before she said anything else. She kept the camera steady for the most part, panning over to Reese who was humming. She wanted to make an actual film and send it in somewhere, get recognized, or play on an actual hockey team. Something.

"I don't doubt that one bit." Eli said Monroe, sincerely. Looking at his group of friends, he sighed. Well, talking about Gabe's mood and notoriety for being pessimistic was a mood killer itself. He felt the silence weigh in all around them.
"How about we all just... drop that subject." Eli finally piped up, and subtly patted his pocket while meeting Gabe's eyes. He mouthed the words "Happy pills," before continuing on. "We all bring different personalities and shit to the table. We all have things that bug us and we're all different and it's great. It's how we survive over here." He nodded. "You know, it is fucking rad to have dreams and aspirations... and I'm telling you, you all need to remember them. Remember those things." Eli nodded for a third time. "Cause if you forget... well, I won't get into that." Thinking back, Eli couldn't even put a finger on his favourite things to do. His hobbies. His interests. Anything. The only thing that was ever on his mind was his addiction. Everyone in the room still had chances to take and make something out of their lives, but Eli... didn't. He was nothing and even was beginning to drag Gabe down to his level.

Kaely held up her pizza as if to say she agreed. "I'm in agreement with Eli for once," Kaely and Eli were never really close, and sometimes she questioned why he did what he did, but Eli did have his points about certain subjects. Especially when he is high. "I just got here and the mood is going sour. Geez guys, says a lot about me." She teased lightly. Though there were moments when she wondered if their joy around her was just an act. And then she would remind herself that she was a bit paranoid and shrugged it off. People of the West side didn't really sugar coat and back stab like the East Side did, or at least she hoped.
Kaely grabbed another slice even though she wasn't finished with her first. Insurance was key on pizza night. Ya snooze, ya lose. It was as simple as that. She turned to reece with a smile after her little jam session induced by Gabe. "I swear you could go pro, Reece. Rylee could always bust out her camera and record you and send a submission off to a label. I heard there's a chance you can always go big." She took another bite of pizza. "Then with the money you get from that, you could buy the dang recipe from Jimmy himself and make us all pizza every friday in your new mansion." Kaely smiled and wiggled her eye brows. It was definitely a win-win in her eyes.

Gabe caught Eli's eye as he scanned the room, and nodded when Eli indicated he had something with him. Just knowing that he'd be getting some sort of high tonight made Gabe's palms a little clammy and his throat a little dry, but he didn't care. Most of the time Gabe felt numb. The pills didn't give him a distinguishable feeling, but at least he felt like he could FEEL something when he was high. Part of Gabe was glad he didn't have money or his problem would be so much worse. He wasn't addicted in the way Eli was. Gabe wouldn't go out of his way to purchase or steal anything for himself. He only took handouts. Reese laughed at Kaely. A bit because the idea of actually becoming famous was a bit ridiculous, but more so because Kaely was so obsessed with Jimmy's pizza. It was good pizza, but Kaely's love for it was special. "Girl if I ever make it big I'll personally buy you an extra large pepperoni pizza every friday. I'll make them spell your name out with the pepperoni and everything," Reese promised. Though part of her was convinced she wasn't meant to actually be a musician. After all, the biggest success stories of West Oak were Big Bob's plumbing service and some guy who sold a poem. Reese knew if she wanted to make it big she'd have to leave West Oak, but of course, she nor her family had the funds to do that. She was stuck just like so many West Oakers before her.

Rylee couldn't help but narrow her eyes a little as she noticed the exchange between Gabe and Eli. It wasn't that she disliked Eli, she knew that he was a good guy, in the respect that he was kind and funny to all of them, but he had a problem and sometimes Rylee was afraid that Gabe would be dragged down with him. She really didn't want that for him and wanted to say something. She had to bite her lip a lot of the time when she was around him to keep herself from yelling at him for being stupid. She turned away and tried to concentrate on Reese. "Seriously though, Kaely's right." That just gave Rylee an idea to send something in, a video of Reese singing in the future.
Sure, Rylee liked times like these when they were all together on pizza night, but she often wanted something more.
"Wait, where's my pizza?" Monroe chimed in. "If Kaely gets one, I want one!" Reese did have talent. He'd heard her singing a few times, when they were all together and they were all playing around, but no matter what, she had a good voice. A lot of them had different things to offer that they could probably become known for if they weren't stuck in East Oak. Rylee had film and hockey talent and Kaely would be sure to be great with kids. Those were just a few examples.
Monroe wasn't really sure what he was good at. He was pretty good at cooking...and could sketch fairly well. The thing was, he didn't have a lot of money to just...spend on his hobbies. Other than that, all he did was blast loud music when he was in his room.

"Of course I'm right, Rylee. I'm Kaely." Kaely laughed and waved her other slice at Monroe. "Hey! The rest is declared mine! For I am the queen," She stuck her tongue out at Monroe, but placed her slice down in the box and grabbed an untouched one, handing it to him. "My generosity musn't go unnoticed. I demand a sketch from your hands!" Of course she was only teasing.
Kaely always had a fascination with Monroe's sketches. He was good, from what she saw, and whenever she spoke to him, it was usually about art and things of the like. Just like fashion, Kaely loved getting her hands on some art work as well. Sure, she could draw something herself, but she had plenty of her work on her wall, but it was nice to see somebody else's every once and a while.
From the corner of her eye she noticed the glance given between Gabe and Eli and she felt a bit nauseous at the realization of what that meant. As much as she wasn't too fond of Gabe or Eli, she still wished they wouldn't throw their life away with drugs. They had so much more to offer the world.
To avoid going silent, she turned to Reece and said with a serious tone. "I hope you know I'm keeping you to that promise."

Eli nodded, seriously. "I won't even bother protesting the for once against you Kaely. I'm pretty sure I can count the times you and I have shared an opinion on one hand. One, don't ruin pizza night. Two, Jimmy's pizza is the best. Three... well, okay two off the top of my head right now." At times, Eli felt like the only reason everyone kept him around was he was a little bit intimidating and one of Gabe's closest friends. He wasn't stupid. He knew his presence made some people uncomfortable and wary. Eli absentmindedly ran his fingertips up and down his destroyed arm and sighed.
Sometimes, he wondered what life would be like. What life would have been like if the Devil hadn't lay a hand on him. No abuse. No scars. No track marks on his arms, dotted inbetween vicious self inflicted wounds. No addiction, at all.
"Reese, if you become famous you better buy us each our own pizza." Eli jokingly threatened. He noticed Gabe's nod, feeling a pang of guilt. Oh well. Gabe wasn't addicted. It was just for fun, to pass their shitty lives in West Oak. Still sprawled out on the floor, Eli nodded towards the roof after glancing at Gabe again. The signal. He was sure everyone knew the signs of when the two boys were leaving to get high.

Gabe nodded, and tossed his plate in the small trashcan he kept in the corner of his room. He stood up from his spot on the beanbag chair, and wiped his hands on his jeans. "Goin' for a walk," he said simply, leaving room without a second glance, knowing that Eli would follow after him. Instead of heading downstairs to take a walk, though, he turned into his older brother's room. They completely ignored him as he went into their closet and up into Reese's room, out the window and over to the fire escape attached to Rylee's apartment building. From there he could climb halfway up the ladder to the next level and step over to the roof of his own house. It was probably a really dangerous place to get high, but he'd managed this long. And frankly, it was the safest in terms of getting caught. Both Reese and Rylee's legs were too short to reach the roof from the ladder. And the roof was angled so nobody could see them from the street or the alleyway unless they were in a very specific spot. Gabe was pretty sure his mom wouldn't be going anywhere tonight, so he wasn't too worried about being caught by her either. It only took a few moments for Eli to show up. "So... what'd you get your hands on this time?" he asked. His voice wasn't excited. It actually sounded pretty sad. He wasn't proud, but also couldn't resist the notion of feeling something again. Reese watched her brother leave the room, and put her head down to stare at her plate as Eli got up and left too. She knew exactly what was going on, and it made her feel sick to her stomach. She had tried to talk to Gabe, though, and he always either denied it was a problem or told her to stay out of it. She tried her best to ignore it, but she felt sick to her stomach every time her brother left pizza night with Eli. She hated the way her friends looked at her with sorry expression too, as if to say 'I'm so sorry your brother is turning into a druggie. That must suck'. It only reminded her about how much of a problem it really was. So she just avoided everybody's looks as the boys left the room.
